Stinky Stables / Great Dinner

Did a tour of the Lipizzaner stables this afternoon. The horses were beautiful close up...bred with a baseline of 6 studs and various mares. To date, no problems, but Down the line they may have to go out of Austria to prevent birth defects. Thay have a computer program that does all the calculations.

We continued to the Hunderwasserhaus, amost unusual type of architecture...don't expect flat floors. Check it out online... www.hunderwasserhaus.com to see a most unusual apartment complex. Picture shows outside of building and check out the ladies room.

Of course, we got lost along the way, but a lovely family helped us out and walked along with us to get to the haus. Lost again on the way to the underground, but again, Anna picked up a single guy and got us to the underground.

On to dinner....

Plachutta's...reportedly one of the best restaurants in Vienna. Top item on the menu...boiled beef. Beef served in a broth with bone marrow, vegetables, spices and, of course, a dumpling. Served with black bread, horseradish sauce, applesauce and tartar sauce....there's more than enough for 2 if you want...boiled beef.

We opted for the schnitzel.....hmmmmmm...delicious! And the potato salad is to die for. we decided to share the schnitzel, but had to ask for the plate. is there a charge for the plate, too? we'll see. I started with the garlic soup, which Anna could smell across the table...she opted for the ... Blah...beef soup. The menu, in small print, reminded you that the bread, which they bring automatically, is 2.80Eoru, plus the 20% tax.  All in all, a good dinner. Can we make it back to the hotel? Sure if we roll one another down the streets of Vienna.
