Guten Morgen! Noon in Frankfurt after an 8 hr flight on a 747 with no empty seats! There was an empty one between me and the aisle but with the snowstorm in New York there were a large number of flyers who were diverted and ended up on our plane. A very nice gentleman from Denmark who was trying to get home sat in the middle....luckily he wasn't a sumo wrestler! Both the guy in the aisle and me were giving him a hard time about taking our empty seat but it wasn't that bad.
Lufthansa was a stickler in Orlando...the carry-on bag could not be more than 10kg...mine was 20...so I had to transfer from my carry-on to my checked bag...luckily the agent was nice enough to give me a little leeway. Anna's carry-on was too high and she had to pay $100 to check a second bag. Her shoulder strap broke on her tote, but me, being the bag lady, had a nice big +Home Goods bag which I was going to use to throw my sweater, heavy vest, and leather jacket in, but I ended up wearing them. Took the boots off, put them in the carry-on and Anna carried my tote. Didn't get much sleep; catnapped on and off for 4 hours. The guy next to me told me he was taking a mild sleeping pill. (Said when he travels alone he always tells someone in his row so that they don't think he's in a coma.)
But we made it; we're in the Lufthansa lounge (thank you +United) and have a 4 hour layover and then it's onto Vienna. We should get there around 1735.
Just realized I gave my converter set to JP, so I can only use my laptop for a short time. Auf Wiedersehen.
